Apple Keychain Amigurumi
Crochet a very cute fruit keychain Amigurumi or plushie toy with this free apple crochet pattern, the pattern has an easy full video tutorial included for beginners that are learning how to crochet.
This cute apple can be made with any yarn that you like. With Sport Weight cotton yarn I made a keychain sized apple, a cute accessory to hang on your bag! The bigger apple was made with Super Bulky Chenille yarn, which creates an adorable soft food plushie.
This is a very easy and quick to crochet Amigurumi pattern, you can make one in less than an hour. A great project for left over yarn.

Basic Stitches Tutorial
If you’re new to crocheting, don’t worry! Check out my beginner-friendly basic stitches tutorial, complete with numerous instructional videos. It covers everything you need to know to make your very own adorable Amigurumi Apple fruit plushie.

Materials:
These are the materials that I used. However, feel free to replace them with other materials of your choice. Furthermore, if you wish to crochet a larger or smaller version of this food toy plushie using this free apple amigurumi crochet pattern, you can simply use a thicker or thinner yarn and crochet hook.
Cotton Sport Weight version 4,5 cm / 2 inch:
– Yarn and Colors Must Have Red cotton color: 032
– Yarn and Colors Must Have Green cotton color: 084
– Yarn and Colors Must Have Black cotton color: 100
– Synthetic Poly Filling
– Crochet hook size B/1 (2.5 mm)
Chenille Super Bulky version 11 cm / 4 inch:
– Red, Green and Black Chenille yarn
– Synthetic Poly Filling
– Crochet hook size H/8 (5.0 mm)
Search for a similar chenille yarn you can buy near you on YARNSUB
Supplies:
– Scissors
– Tapestry needles with blunt point, nr. 16 or 17
– Pins
TIP: Are you using are using Blanket yarn? Then I recommend a L/11 (8 mm) crochet hook.

Rnd: Round
st: stitch
sc: single crochet
sl st: slip stitch

Free Apple Crochet Pattern
Apple:
- Use red yarn
- Rnd 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
- Rnd 2: inc 6 times (12)
- Rnd 3: (sc, inc in next st) repeat 6 times (18)
- Rnd 4: (sc in next 2 st, inc in next st) repeat 6 times (24)
- Rnd 5-6: sc in all 24 st (24)
- Rnd 7: (sc in next 3 st, inc in next st) repeat 6 times (30)
- Rnd 8-9: sc in all 30 st (30)
- Rnd 10: (sc in next 4 st, inc in next st) repeat 6 times (36)
- Rnd 11-12: sc in all 36 st (36)
- If you want your apple to have a face. Embroider two eyes over rounds 10 and 11, with an interspace of 6 stitches (photo 1-2). Embroider a small mouth (one stitch wide) with black yarn between rounds 8 and 9 (photo 3).

- Rnd 13: (sc in next 4 st, dec) repeat 6 times (30)
- Rnd 14: (sc in next 3 st, dec) repeat 6 times (24)
- Rnd 15: (sc in next 2 st, dec) repeat 6 times (18)
- Stuff the apple with fiberfill and continue stuffing as you go.
- Rnd 16: (sc, dec in next st) repeat 6 times (12)
- Rnd 17: dec 6 times (6)
- Finish the apple by taking the last strand of yarn and sewing it through the front loops of every crochet stitch that you made in the last round. Pull the yarn tight to close the hole. Weave the yarn all the way to the bottom of the apple, then weave to the top of the apple. Pull the yarn, so the bottom and top are squashed in, weave up and down a few times and then weave in the yarn end.
Stalk:
- Use brown yarn and crochet a chain
- CH 6
- Row 1: Start in second ch from hook (photo 4), slst in next 5 st (5)
- Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. (photo 5)
- Sew the stalk on the top of the apple. Do not cut off the yarn, but weave it all the way to the bottom of the apple then sew some stitches on the bottom of the apple to form an asterisk shape (photo 6).

Leaf:
- Use green yarn and crochet a chain
- CH 6
- Row 1: Start in second ch from hook, slst in next st, hdc in next st, 2 dc in next st, hdc in next st, slst in next st (6) (photo 7)
- Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

- Sew the leaf on the top of the apple.
- Now your apple is done!
- If you want to turn this apple into a keychain, attach a keychain with a jumpring to the top of the apple.
