Crochet a cute vegetable keychain or plushie with this free carrot crochet pattern, an easy no sew Amigurumi toy pattern for beginners, including a detailed full video tutorial. Use any yarn to create this carrot, use thin yarn and a small crochet hook to create a small carrot or thicker yarn with a larger crochet hook to create a big carrot.
The small carrot keychain was made with sport weight cotton yarn and a 2.5 mm crochet hook. The larger carrot was made with Super Bulky Chenille yarn and a 5 mm crochet hook, which makes a large plushie carrot. Both are made with the same pattern.
The pattern is great for leftover yarn. If you are a beginner, the full video tutorial that is included with this pattern might be very helpfull when creating this carrot. This is a no sew pattern, So no sewing is required, which make it a very fast to make carrot.

If you’re new to crocheting, don’t worry! Check out my beginner-friendly basic stitches tutorial, complete with numerous instructional videos. It covers everything you need to know to make your very own adorable Amigurumi Carrot vegetable plushie.
Materials:
These are the materials that I used. However, feel free to replace them with other materials of your choice. Furthermore, if you wish to crochet a larger or smaller version of this toy plushie using this free carrot amigurumi crochet pattern, you can simply use a thicker or thinner yarn and crochet hook.
Cotton Sport Weight version 3 inch / 8cm:
– Yarn and Colors Must Have Orange cotton color: 106
– Yarn and Colors Must Have Green cotton color: 123
– Yarn and Colors Must Have Black cotton color: 100
– Synthetic Poly Filling
– Crochet hook size B/1 (2.5 mm)
Chenille Super Bulky version 8 inch / 20cm:
– Orange Green and Black Chenille yarn
– Synthetic Poly Filling
– Crochet hook size H/8 (5.0 mm)

Supplies:
– Scissors
– Tapestry needles with blunt point, nr. 16 or 17
– Pins
TIP: Are you using are using Blanket yarn? Then I recommend a L/11 (8 mm) crochet hook.

Free Carrot Crochet Pattern
Carrot:
- Start with orange yarn
- Rnd 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
- Rnd 2: sc in all 6 st (6)
- Rnd 3: (sc, inc in next st) repeat 3 times (9)
- Rnd 4: (sc in next 2 st, inc in next st) repeat 3 times (12)
- Rnd 5: sc in all 12 st (12)
- Rnd 6: (sc in next 3 st, inc in next st) repeat 3 times (15)
- Rnd 7: sc in all 15 st (15)
- Rnd 8: (sc in next 4 st, inc in next st) repeat 3 times (18)
- Rnd 9: sc in all 18 st (18)
- Rnd 10: (sc in next 5 st, inc in next st) repeat 3 times (21)
- Rnd 11: sc in all 21 st (21)
- Rnd 12: (sc in next 6 st, inc in next st) repeat 3 times (24)
- Rnd 13-15: sc in all 24 st (24)
- Rnd 16: (sc in next 2 st, dec) repeat 6 times (18)
- If you want your carrot to have a face, embroider two eyes over rounds 13 and 14, with an interspace of 5 stitches (photo 1-3). With black yarn embroider a small mouth (one stitch wide) between rounds 12 and 13 (photo 4-5).

- Stuff the carrot with fiberfill and continue stuffing as you go.
- Rnd 17: (sc in next st, dec) repeat 6 times (12)
- Change to green yarn
- Learn how to change color here
- Rnd 18: dec 6 times (6)
- Rnd 19: (slst in next st, CH 7, start in second ch from hook (photo 6), slst in next 6 st (photo 7)) repeat 6 times

- Sew round 18 together to close the hole.
Now your carrot is done! If you want to turn this carrot into a keychain, attach a keychain with a jumpring to the top of the carrot.
