  • Use a french knot to make the nostrils with black yarn between rounds 16 and 17 on stitch 34 and 37.

Instead of a french knot, you could embroider the nostrils on the face, by sewing over one stitch with black yarn to create a nostril. Just like a did on this small monkey. The small mini monkey keychain crochet pattern has a full video tutorial included.

  • Fasten off with a slip stitch. Leave a long piece of yarn to sew the ears on the head. Sew the ears on the head on round 13-17.

Tip plush yarn: when you make this monkey crochet pattern from chenille yarn, you might want to stretch out ear while crocheting, to make sure it is flat.

Arm (2x):

  • Rnd 6-36: sc in all 6 st (6) Put a bit of stuffing in the tail when crocheting the tail.
  • Fasten off with a slip stitch. Leave a long piece of yarn to sew the tail on the body.
  • Sew a long piece of brown yarn on the top of your tail. Now sew the yarn along the long side of the tail (see photo). Pull the piece of yarn to shape the tail. Weave in the remaining yarn at the bottom of the tail.
  • Sew the tail on the back of the body on round 9-11.
