Cute Duck Amigurumi pattern

Create your very own adorable duck Amigurumi with this free duck crochet pattern! This is an easy small beginner crochet project that you can make in a few hours. It is a great pattern for left over yarn. I love making mini animal because they just take a little bit of time to create. As a result, you will have such a cute gift.

For the smaller duck Amigurumi, I used sport weight cotton yarn, for the larger version, I used chenille Super Bulky plush yarn.

Duckling crochet pattern:
The pattern below is for a mallard duck, but you can easily change this duck into a duckling, by changing the colors to yellow for the body.

Materials:
These are the materials that I used for this duck. You can replace them with other materials. If you wish to crochet a larger or smaller version of this little duck, you can just use a thicker or thinner yarn/crochet hook.

The colors below are for the male duck, to create a female duck, change the colors to white and skip the color changes. Or change the color to yellow to create a duckling.

Supplies:
– Scissors
Tapestry needles with blunt point, nr. 16
– Pins

TIP: Are you using are using Blanket yarn? Then I recommend a 8.0 mm crochet hook.
For Bulky Velvet yarn I recommend a 3.5 mm crochet hook.

Body:

  • Start in green yarn
  • Rnd 3: (sc, inc in next st) repeat 8 times (24)
  • Rnd 4: (sc in next 3 st, inc in next st) repeat 6 times (30)
  • Rnd 5: sc in all 30 st (30)
  • Rnd 6: (sc in next 4 st, inc in next st) repeat 6 times (36)
  • Mark the the 12th & 19th stitch of round 8 with a piece of yarn
  • Rnd 7-9: sc in all 36 st (36)
  • Rnd 10: (sc in next 4 st, dec in next st) repeat 6 times (30)
  • Rnd 11: (sc in next 3 st, dec in next st) repeat 6 times (24)
  • Insert the safety eyes between rounds 8 and 9, in the stitches marked earlier.
  • Rnd 12: (sc in next st, dec in next st) repeat 6 times (16)
