Free Frog Crochet Pattern

Mini Frog Amigurumi

Crochet a very cute frog Amigurumi with this free frog crochet pattern. You can crochet this mini amigurumi with any yarn that you like, make sure to use the smallest crochet hook (or smaller) recommended on the label of the yarn.

Size frog that I made with sport weight cotton yarn: 6 cm / 2 inch. Size big frog made from Super Bulky Chenille: 14 cm / 6 inch.

Materials:
These are the materials that I used for this frog You can replace them with other materials. If you wish to crochet a larger or smaller version of this mini frog Amigurumi keychain you can just use a thicker or thinner yarn/crochet hook.

Cotton Sport Weight version 6 cm / 2 inch:
– Green Yarn and Colors Must have: 83 or catania cotton color – 205
– Pink Yarn and Colors Must have: 48 – Pastel Pink or catania cotton color – 222
– Black Yarn and Colors Must have: 100 or catania cotton color – 110
– Synthetic Poly filling
– 1 pair cat safety eyes: 12 mm

Chenille Super Bulky plush version 14 cm / 6 inch:
– Green Chenille yarn
– Pink Chenille yarn
– Black Chenille yarn
– Synthetic Poly filling
– 1 pair cat safety eyes: 28 mm

Supplies:
– Scissors
– Tapestry needles with blunt point, nr. 16 or 17
– Pins
– Crochet hook size 2.5 mm 4/0 for the cotton or 5.0 mm H for Chenille yarn

Cheek 2x:

• Use pink yarn
• Rnd 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
• Fasten off cleanly, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Body:

• Use green yarn
• Rnd 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
• Rnd 2: inc 6 times (12)
• Rnd 3: (sc, inc in next st) repeat 6 times (18)
• Rnd 4: (sc in next 2 st, inc in next st) repeat 6 times (24)
• Rnd 5: (sc in next 3 st, inc in next st) repeat 6 times (30)
• Rnd 6: sc in all 30 st (30)
• Rnd 7: (sc in next 4 st, inc in next st) repeat 6 times (36)
• Rnd 8-10: sc in all 36 st (36)
• Attach the safety eyes between rounds 5 and 6, with an interspace of 8 stitches. Sew the nostrils between rounds 7 and 8, the nostrils are 1 stitch wide, with an interspace of 1 stitch.

• Rnd 11: (sc in next 4 st, dec) repeat 6 times (30)
• Rnd 12: (sc in next 3 st, dec) repeat 6 times [24]
• Rnd 13: (sc in next 2 st, dec) repeat 6 times (18)
• Rnd 14: sc in all 18 st (18)
• Rnd 15: (sc in next 2 st, inc in next st) repeat 6 times (24)
• Rnd 16-18: sc in all 24 st (24)
• Rnd 19: (sc in next st, dec) repeat 8 times (16)
• Rnd 20: dec 8 times (8)
• Stuff the body with toy fiberfilling.
• Rnd 21: (sc in next 2 st, dec) repeat 2 times (6)
• Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
• Finish the body by taking the last strand of yarn and sewing it through the front loops of every crochet stitch that you made in the last round. Pull the yarn tight to close the hole. Now stick a needle under the hole and weave in the yarn end.
• Sew the cheek over rounds 8 and 9.

Feet 4x:

• Use green yarn
• Rnd 1: start sc 6 in a magic circle (6)
• Sew two feet on the bottom of the legs.
  Fold the two to flatten them and sew them over round 18 between the legs with an interspace of 1 stitch.
