Almost No Sew Stingray Amigurumi Tutorial
This adorable Amigurumi is an easy beginner friendly free stingray crochet pattern. There is not much sewing required to create this cute stingray. Including a full YouTube video tutorial, which makes it perfect for beginners that want to learn how to crochet a cute mini stingray.

I made the small keychain size version from sport weight cotton yarn. However, you can also crochet the stingray from bigger yarn. For example, the big stingray has been made with plush chenille yarn which makes your mini Amigurumi much bigger and very huggable.

Materials:
These are the materials that I used. However, feel free to replace them with other materials of your choice. Furthermore, if you wish to crochet a larger or smaller version of the stingray amigurumi using this free crochet pattern, you can simply use a thicker or thinner yarn and crochet hook.
Cotton Sport Weight version 12 cm / 5 inch:
– Blue cotton Yarn and Colors Must Have color: 120
– Light Blue Yarn and Colors Must Have color: 073
– Synthetic Poly Filling
– Crochet hook size 2.5 mm
– Safety eyes 7 mm
Chenille Super Bulky version 24 cm / 10 inch:
– Blue Chenille yarn
– Light Blue Chenille yarn
– Synthetic Poly Filling
– Crochet hook size 5.0 mm
– Safety eyes 15 mm
Search for a similar chenille yarn you can buy near you on YARNSUB
TIP: Are you using are using Blanket yarn? Then I recommend a 8.0 mm crochet hook.
For Bulky Velvet yarn I recommend a 3.5 mm crochet hook.

- Mark the 9th & 16th stitch of round 4 with a piece of yarn or stitch marker.

- Insert the safety eyes between rounds 4 and 5, in the stitches marked earlier.

- Stuff the body with fiberfill and continue stuffing as you go.
- Rnd 19: (sc in next st, dec) repeat 6 times (12)

- Embroider spots on the body of your stingray amigurumi with light blue yarn. (photo 5 and 6)
- Sew the wings together. (photo 7)

- Rnd 21: (sc in next st, dec) repeat 4 times (8)
- Rnd 22-31: sc in all 8 st (8)
- Rnd 32: (sc in next 2 st, dec) repeat 2 times (6)
- Finish the body by taking the last strand of yarn and sewing it through the front loops of every crochet stitch that you made in the last round. Pull the yarn tight to close the hole. Now stick a needle under the hole and weave in the yarn end.
